High-rising Housing in Poland

The projects of the high raising houses developed in Warsaw where I was commissioned to prepare such a conception for Israeli promoters on a relatively small site. Parallel, there was another project in Lodz, where I adapted a similar concept. The main problem of the high raising buildings is, that when there are some of them grouped together, they hide the view and light to others. It is so simple to locate the square towers in diagonal to each other and then, if necessary connect them on certain levels. The planning of the high raising buildings is not a house, but a neighborhood and it has to be treated as such. Therefore it must contain within itself the necessary services, like commercial, leisure, recreation, restaurants, security etc. in order to be self-dependent. The technology to build high progresses much faster than the environmental study of the high raising buildings, which creates the conflict between the two.
